Siemens Unveils RFID Transponders and Mobile Handheld Reader

Siemens is expanding its line of Simatic® RF600 RFID products with new transponders with large memory capacities and a compact mobile read/write device.

The new Simatic RF622T and RF622L UHF RFID transponders have capacities of 4 KB and can store large volumes of data while rapidly accessing tagged objects.  The carriers are ideal for production control, asset management and intra-logistics distributed configurations.

The ferroelectric random access memory (FRAM) of the RF622T and RF622L transponders enables high-speed writing as well as an unlimited number of write cycles.

The new Simatic RF650M mobile handheld reader reliably identifies large numbers of transponders up to three meters away. Designed for logistics and service applications, the reader features a color touch display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, a rugged keypad and a large trigger button.

A fold down RFID antenna coupled with a small 147 x 60 x 39 mm size allows the handheld reader to be carried in a pocket.  Weighing only 235 g, including the rechargeable battery, the reader is designed for fatigue-free use over long periods.  A nine hour battery life ensures operation for at least one shift.

Autoignition temperature of a material is the lowest temperature at which it can spontaneously ignite in a normal atmosphere without an external source of ignition, such as a flame or a spark. Sahara Hot Boxes provide the solution with precise temperature control and temperature uniformity, making it suitable for use in Class I, Div I areas. The Sahara Hot Box pictured electrically heats 8 drums on pallets or 2 totes. Steam, hot oil or hot water can also be used as the heating medium.

The heating capability of each Hot Box is designed based on the customers’ needs. With over 30 years of drum warming experience, Benko Products can accurately calculate and predict heat up times. The Model E8 is ideal for quickly and safely heating hard-to-melt materials.

The Sahara Hot Box Model E8 is fully insulated and features rugged steel construction, built-in spill containment and is portable; just pick up with a forklift. This oven is shipped completely assembled and tested for easy installation. It is designed to include digital temperature control and independent over-temperature control as well as an air circulation blower for temperature uniformity and fast heat-up of drums or totes.
