RÖHM Products of America offers a broad selection of end-of-arm tooling for any robot in any industry, including the new, customizable RRMG synthetic gripper. When the company launches this rapid manufacturing gripper in October, it will bring 30 percent more clamping force to large workpiece handling than its predecessor.

Perfect for the secure gripping and clamping of complex, sensitive parts, the lightweight, yet robust RRMG synthetic gripper has jaws with free-form surfaces that adapt to different workpiece geometries, whether they be round or prismatic in shape.

The RRMG has an optimized structure with reinforcements for maximum rigidity and long service life. It can perform up to 16 million gripping cycles without experiencing wear or requiring maintenance. For maximum process control and automation, users can add optional position monitoring to the RRMG via installable sensors.

Available in two sizes with gripping forces of 80 and 152 (N), RÖHM is able to customize the RRMG by developing these grippers around the 3D workpiece models provided by customers. The company also relies on selective laser sintering to manufacture these products.

According to Ervin Vallejo, RÖHM automations product manager in North America, the RRMG grippers along with the company’s swivel units and tool changers easily add increased reliability, productivity and profitability to automated manufacturing processes.

“While our smart, flexible end-of-arm tooling is well known and widely used overseas, my goal is to grow market share for these products in North America – and advanced solutions such as the RRMG will make it possible,” he said.

RÖHM will introduce the RRMG synthetic gripper at EMO MILANO 2015, taking place October 5-10 in Italy.

The heavy 14 gauge frame bolts right through the butcher block top providing sturdy support for shelving and other accessories, like our clear- board. Our clearboard can be installed on one or both sides providing the perfect area for hanging tools or for use as shadowboard. Our clearboard provides increased visibility into the shop and natural light for your worktable. Butcherblock tops are custom made by local artisans and have 1/4″ bullnosed edges to pro- vide a smooth and safe working area. This fixture will enable fabricators to reduce setup time in flange + pipe joining, and increase weld quality for greater repeatability.

Flanges [diameter range: 3” – 18.3”, Hole Count: 4 – 16], can be accurately located, and securely clamped, to the Universal Flange Fixture Plate in setup for flange + pipe joining.

Two Guide Blocks, set as required for each specific flange diameter and hole pattern, hold the flange against the Fixture Plate, and expand symmetrically to accurately locate the flange. Pins in the two Guide Blocks provide easy flange loading. The patent-pending Fixture Plate provides full welding clearance, and allows easy removal of the finished weldment.

The fixture is strong and rigid, to withstand cumulative stresses resulting from welding, and holds the joined flange & pipe during cool down to prevent distortion, expansion, and contraction. Load the flange & pipe, accurately position, and unload quickly for quality welds, maximum productivity, and repeatability.
